Dr Kethoser Aniu Kevichüsa expounded the need to explore the ‘idea of service’ and that one’s service should come in humble submission. He was the speaker of the devotional service of the Angami Students’ Union (ASU) 29th Biennial General Conference at Kisama Heritage Village on April 25.

Referring to people in the Bible, he said, “David served the purpose of God in his generation, and most hero and heroines of the Bible did secular jobs. Abraham a businessman, Amos a farmer, Nehemiah a social reformer, Esther a beauty queen, Jesus a carpenter. God has called us to serve him for different purposes.”

This purpose he said, it must be accompanied and placed ‘before the face of God’ and as such in any profession and in any way big or small, we must go out to serve God.

“Whenever God has something to do, He always uses human beings. God wants to use you for his purpose. You are exactly where God wants you to be. Walk into the plans and purpose of God.”

He said that our forefathers have served the purpose of God and the future generation will serve the purpose of God or may fail to serve Him yet we of this generation must serve the purpose of God in our time in our generation.

He challenged the young people to commit themselves to service like David did in his time.

Earlier, the programme was chaired by Visako Rino, Tribunal Member, ASU and Kigwema and Phesama Students Union presented songs.
