Salhoutuono Kruse, along with other officials and party members during the consultative meeting of the 8th Western Angami Assembly Constituency held on March 25 at Sechü–Zubza Council Hall, Kohima.
Kohima, March 26 (MExN): A consultative meeting (AC level and above) of the 8th Western Angami Assembly Constituency was held on March 25 at Sechü–Zubza Council Hall under the directive of the NPF Kohima Division.
The meeting was hosted by Salhoutuono Kruse, Minister for Horticulture and Women Resource Development, Government of Nagaland, and in-charge of NPF Kohima Division.
It was attended by party representatives, including central office bearers, members of the central executive committee, cell convenors, division office bearers of various wings, and AC office bearers.
Senior leaders Goneiu Sirie, Vice President (COB) and assistant in-charge, Kohima Division, and Mhiesizokho Zinyü, member of the NPF Elders Forum, addressed the gathering.
Sirie highlighted the party’s foundation in 1963 under A Kevichüsa and emphasised the role of party workers as its backbone. He urged members to work with sincerity under the leadership of party president Dr Neiphiu Rio and called for better coordination with elected councillors.
Zinyü stressed commitment, trust, transparency and unity, and reiterated support for Rio’s leadership. Both leaders also drew attention to the forthcoming Census revision, likely to begin in April.
Rokovisie Rino, Secretary (COB), urged members to remain loyal, maintain unity and avoid internal discord.
In her address, Kruse recalled her early political journey and expressed gratitude to party workers and well-wishers for their support. She described her election as a historic milestone, being among the first women MLAs from the constituency and the first woman minister of the state. She called for unity and collective efforts for the development of the constituency.
The meeting was chaired by Mhiesilhoukho Yalie, AC president. Dzüviho Kin, AC advisor, delivered the invocation, while Vitsalhou Kesiezie, AC advisor, proposed the vote of thanks.
The house unanimously resolved to uphold unity and transparency, reaffirm support to Kruse, and extend commitment to the leadership of Dr Neiphiu Rio.
