NSCN Khaplang amazed by CFSB Chairman’s letter

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 22 (MExN): The National Socialist Council of Nagaland Khaplang has stated that it was “flabbergasted” on receiving a letter from the Chairman CFSB contenting that the Sumi Hoho demands for closure of all the Designated Camps in Zunheboto District due to “violation of cease-fire ground rules” by the NSCN/GPRN cadres in and around Zunheboto District, for which purpose the Sumi Hoho purportedly submitted memorandum to the Chairman CFSB alleging NSCN(K) as responsible for adversely affecting peace and tranquility in the area.
Clarifying to this statement from the CFSB Chairman, a press note from the MIP has stated that whereas the same copy of memorandum which was submitted to CFSB also endorsed to the NSCN/GPRN and the CFSB’s version/interpretation of the same memo entirely contradicts and does not correspond at all. In this regard, the MIP has issued to the media both copies of the CFSB Chairman’s letter to NSCN/GPRN and the Sumi Hoho memorandum so that the “responsible party may justify/clarify and make amends for the lapses”.
As per the letter from the CFSB Chairman written to the Supervisor, CFSB NSCN (K), it was pointed out that the Sumi Hoho, Nagaland had issued a representation to the Chairman, CFSB pointing out that “the armed cadres of NSCN (K) are moving about in the towns, villages and other inhabited areas of Zunheboto District”. The NSCN Khaplang also issued the copy of the Sumi Hoho representation wherein the latter referred to the Sumi General Public Session held on 09/08/2011 at Zunheboto where it was unanimously resolved that the Sumi inhabited area was declared as “Peace Zone” on the 15th.January 2008 during public rally and the same was unanimously reiterated and reaffirmed on the 7th. July 2011 by the Sumi General session. The Sumi Hoho statement also noted that “in view of the Government of India extending ceasefire to all the warring group, the existence of the Designated Camps in Zunheboto District has threatened the congenial and peaceful environment” and “therefore the Sumi Hoho shall strongly urge upon the concerned authority to remove/withdraw the designated camps within Zunheboto district”.
