NSRLM launches ‘Lakhpati Didi’ scheme at Sechü Zubza

The Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission (NSRLM) along with District Mission Management Unit (DMMU) Kohima district today conducted district level credit camp in coinciding with launching event of ‘Lakhpati Didi’ scheme at Sechü Zubza.

Delivering keynote address, Rajuselie Lhousa, State Programme Manager (Financial Inclusion) NSRLM said that the district level credit camp was part of ‘Lakhpati Didi’ scheme launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi across the country. Lhousa recalled that the PM has made a declaration during Independence Day last year, to make 2 Crore ‘Lakhpati Didi’ in the villages in the country.

He also said that Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in interim budget on February 1, 2024, has announced that ‘Lakhpati Didi’ scheme to target 3 crore women from two crore women. In this, Lhousa encouraged women Self Help Group (SHG) across the state to venture into multiple projects and become 'Lakhpati Didi.’ 

He also called upon the SHG to utilise the loan facilities well its purpose.

‘Take advantage of SHG loan’
Kekhrievonuo Ciesotsu, Branch Manager, State Bank of India (SBI) Sechü Zubza highlighted various loan schemes under SBI. She encouraged women SHGs to take advantage of SHG loan as it offer low interest rate. She informed that the SBI is always there to assist women SHGs to boost livelihood activities.

Later, she handed over sanction letter to three SHG under Sechu Block.

Keduseho, Field Officer, Nagaland State Co-operative Bank, Kohima acknowledged NSRLM’s intervention in easing the process of reaching loan to the SHG by various financial institutions. He called for proper utilisation and timely repayment of loan.

Keduseho told the women SHG to give importance to book beeping and also to provide valid documents while seeking loans. He also urged upon the SHG to maintain loyalty in banking to get more help from financial institutions.

1336 SHG in Kohima district
Highlighting the status of SHG in Kohima district, Pelebeituo Peter Solo, District Coordinator (Financial Inclusion) informed that there are 1336 SHG with 10, 221 members under Kohima district.

Videtonu Phinyo, Area Coordinator (Financial Inclusion) Sechu Block highlighted that status of Sechu block in credit linkage. She informed that there are 138 SGH under Sechu Block.

Two loan beneficiaries- Viketuno Edith Rutsa and Sabita Thapa shared success story and expressed gratitude to NSRLM and financial institutions for uplifting their business venture.

Earlier, welcome address was delivered by Vikepelie Mejura, Block Programme Manager, Sechu Block.

The programme was chaired by Hovidil Kweho, Area Coordinator (Livelihoods) while Kevinono Kosa invoked God’s blessing. Vote of thanks was proposed by Nisorieno Meyase, president Block Level Federation, Sechu Block.
