Medziphema, October 24 (MExN): The 45th Foundation Day of NU-SASRD (Nagaland University-School of Agricultural Sciences and Rural Development), Medziphema was held on October 20 celebrate the 45 year-old milestone of the agriculture institute.
The programme was chaired by Otava Swu, the Deputy Registrar, NU:SASRD, while the welcome address was given by Prof L Daiho, Dean.
In her exhortation, Prof Alemla Ao reminisced about the beginning years of the institute and urged all the institute stakeholders to work sincerely for more achievements in the future.
The foundation day lecture was delivered by Prof MB Sharma, HOD of the Department of Genetics and Plant Breeding SASRD on the topic ‘Natural Farming’.
Alumni Awards were also presented to the toppers of the B Sc (Hons) Agriculture Batches (2021-2022) by Prof L Tongpang Longkumer, President of AASASRD (Alumni Association SASRD).
The recipients of the award were Rajesree Kundu from B.Sc 1st year, Keerthana R from BSc 2nd year, Ajano Thorie from B.Sc 3rd year and Sukanya Bej from B.Sc 4th year.
Special numbers were performed by the SASRD EU choir, SASRD Alumni and SU-SASRD(Students Union-SASRD) while the vote of thanks was given by Prof Pualine Alila, I/C Student’s Welfare, SASRD.
