Peren, October 17 (MExN): The Department of Education at Peren Government College organised a one-day skills development programme to promote entrepreneurship among its students on October 15. Held at the college conference hall, the event featured practical training in soap making.

The first session, led by Iheirangle, a faculty member from SBI-RSETI, Peren, focused on the “Introduction to Value Addition in Soap Making” and the “Importance of Skills in Entrepreneurship.” She emphasised the growing market potential for customised, handmade products and highlighted the value of creating soaps from naturally sourced ingredients without chemical additives.

In the second session, practical trainer Loyivani Humtsoe conducted a step-by-step demonstration on soap making. Participants were guided through the process of mixing ingredients, adding natural colours and fragrances, and shaping the soaps.

The session included hands-on practice, where students explored value addition techniques and packaging methods to enhance product appeal.

An interactive segment allowed participants to clarify doubts and share their ideas on entrepreneurship and creative product design.
