SBI Youth For India Fellowship batch 12th at valediction ceremony on November 6.
Dimapur, November 6 (MExN): The SBI Foundation organised a valedictory programme for the 12th Batch of the SBI Youth for India Fellowship in Gurgaon on Thursday.
SBI Youth for India Fellowship is SBI Foundation’s uniquely designed 13-month fellowship program that came into inception in the year 2011. It provides a framework for talented youth from diverse backgrounds to join hands with rural communities to help understand their struggles and connect with their aspirations.
In a press statement received here, it stated that the event marked the culmination of a transformative 13-month journey for 70 young candidates who lived and worked in rural India, co-creating scalable community-driven solutions to address some of the nation’s most pressing social challenges.
‘Over the past 13 years, the fellowship has grown into one of India’s most respected youth development programs, reaching more than 200,000 lives across more than 250 villages in 21 states and 1 union territory through partnerships with 15 leading NGOs,’ it stated.
Chandra Bhushan Kumar Singh, GM & Director SBI Academy, in his speech, encouraged the graduating youngsters to stay curious, keep learning and remain committed to their goals stating, ‘the future belongs to those who adapt and embrace change.’
At the same time, Singh reaffirmed the motto that the SBI Youth for India Fellowship embodied the spirit of empowering youth which was to drive meaningful change at the grassroots of every field, be it banking, business, or other social impact.
Sanjay Prakash, MD & CEO SBI Foundation, in his address, stated that the fellowship goes beyond nurturing leaders and that it cultivates change-makers who immerse themselves in rural communities to understand the challenges firsthand and create sustainable solutions.
Likewise, Jagannath Sahoo, President & COO, SBI Foundation, added that the work of the graduating students exemplified the transformative power of youth engagement and that their work covering women’s empowerment to inclusive education reflected the steadfast commitment of equity, inclusion and sustainability of the nation’s development ethos.
