Jakhama, July 12 (MExN): At the backdrop of the country’s latest National Education Policy, 2020 (NEP 2020), a workshop on ‘transformative and enhancement of quality in higher educational institutions: Perspective of NEP 2020’ was organized by IQAC, St Joseph’s College (A), Jakhama for the staff of the college on July 10 and 11. The two-day workshop was sponsored by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore.

During the inaugural session, Fr Dr George Keduolhou Angami, Principal, SJC (A), Jakhama welcomed the gathering. Prof Buno Legiese, Head, Department of Education, Nagaland University delivered the keynote address raising the need to be flexible and being alert with the introduction of the NEP 2020 across the universities in the country. She also highlighted the various positive points from the frames of the NEP 2020. 

Prof Dipak Sinha, Director IQAC & Nodal Officer of NEP 2020 for NU and Dr Medongoi Rhakho, Deputy Director (Academics), Department of Higher Education, Nagaland were the resource persons during different technical sessions of the workshop. They spoke on different aspects of NEP 2020 from different angles including the frame-work for the implementation of FYUGP in the colleges in Nagaland according to the guidelines laid down in the policy. Mention may be made that St. Joseph’s College (A), Jakhama is implementing the NEP 2020 from this year academic session starting this July as also the NU. 

After two practical hands-on and discussion sessions chaired by Fr Dr George Keduolhou Angami, Principal, SJC (A), Jakhama.  In the valedictory session, Dr Nokhwenu Veronica, Deputy Director, Department of Higher Education, Nagaland delivered the valedictory address.
