Thunderstorms, rainfall likely in Nagaland from July 1-4: NSDMA
Dimapur, June 30 (MExN): Weather conditions across Nagaland are expected to remain unsettled from July 1 to 4, with the State Disaster Management Authority issuing an advisory for citizens to remain vigilant against localized thunderstorms, lightning, and light to moderate rainfall over several districts.
According to the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), Home Department, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and light to moderate rainfall are likely over many districts on July 1, including Chümoukedima, Kohima, Longleng, Meluri, Mokokchung, Mon, Peren, Tseminyu, Tuensang and Zunheboto. Light to moderate rainfall is also expected in Dimapur, Noklak and Wokha.
The inclement weather is forecast to continue on July 2, with thunderstorms over Longleng, Mokokchung, Mon, Peren, Tseminyu, Tuensang and Zunheboto, while scattered light to moderate rainfall is expected over Dimapur, Niuland and Wokha, and isolated light rainfall in other districts.
On July 3, localized thunderstorms and lightning are predicted over Kiphire, Longleng, Meluri, Mon, Noklak, Tseminyu, Wokha, and Zunheboto, with light rainfall likely over Kohima, Mokokchung, Peren, Phek, Shamator, and Tuensang.
By July 4, thunderstorms and lightning are expected to persist in many parts, particularly over Kohima, Meluri, Mokokchung, Mon, Niuland, Noklak, Peren, Phek, Tseminyu, Tuensang, and Zunheboto. Light to moderate rainfall is also likely at scattered locations in Chümoukedima, Kiphire, and Longleng.
