ADC Dimapur Atokhe Aye along with department officials giving away the awards to the representatives of Vihokhu village on the occasion of National Panchayati Raj Day 2021 on April 25.
Dimapur, April 25 (MExN): Vihokhu village under Kuhuboto Rural Development Block was conferred with two national panchayat awards - Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Sashaktikaran Puraskar and Nanaji Deshmukh Rashtriya Gaurav Gram Sabha Puraskar on the occasion of National Panchayati Raj Day 2021.
According to a press release received here, the event was observed all across the nation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressing the gram panchayats through video conferencing.
RD Block Kuhuboto initiated a programme to mark the occasion in the conference hall of National Informatics Centre, Dimapur and through which the concerned department along with the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur Atokhe Aye participated in the celebration.
On behalf of the department and government and in presence of BDO Phoishe Sema and DPO Tsukti Jamir, Atokhe Aye handed over the citations to Vihokhu village representatives, Khehovi Sumi, village council chairman and Vitolu Awomi, VDB secretary.
The citation comes along with cash award which was directly transferred to the awardee panchayat account by the Prime Minister.
Narendra Modi launched nationwide SVAMITVA Scheme and also launched e-property card distribution to about 4.09 lakhs property owners in 5002 villages across the country. Delivering welcome remarks, Narendra Singh Tomar, Minister, Panchayati Raj, government of India also spoke on the occasion.
