The Wood Chopping Competition which was scheduled to be held on April 30 at Solidarity Park, Kohima has been postponed. United Brothers (UB) Kohima in this regard has informed that the event is being deferred in view of the “current COVID-19 situation and revised SoPs.”
The competition is likely to be held only next month i.e. May, “with further notice for the safety of everyone,” the organizers said. They further informed that persons who have purchased tickets may use the same ticket for entry in the coming event.
Regretting the turn of events which was unavoidable, the team apologized for the inconvenience to the players and the public. Since it is a first time event, we want to host it on the best day possible. On the bright side we will come back more prepared and bring more entertainment, the organizers added.
Wood Chopping Competition which maybe a first of its kind to be organized in the State, was expected to be an interesting game for both public and participants, having categories for both men and women with a prize pool of Rs 2 lakh.
