World Veterinary Day observed in CTC Aolijen

Mokokchung, April 24 (MExN): World Veterinary Day programme was held under the theme ‘Veterinarian response to the COVID-19 crisis’ at Clark Theological College hall, Aolijen, Mokokchung on April 24.

It was organized by Nagaland Veterinarians Association in collaboration with department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services Nagaland.

Keynote address was given by Dr BM Sunep, Chief AH and Veterinary Officer Mokokchung who spoke on the importance and significant of the world veterinary day and also highlighted on the response and role played by the department in the district during the outbreak of COVID-19. He said that the veterinarians act as an essential service contributor during the pandemic.

Short speeches were delivered by Dr Sentitula IFS DFO Mokokchung and Rev Dr A Temjen Jamir, Principal CTC Aolijen. Dr Sentitula spoke on the importance of preservation and conservation of forest and its flora and fauna for the survival and existence of all the living beings in the world. She also called upon all to be sincere, faithful and discipline in any profession.

Rev Temjen Jamir spoke on the activities of the college related to veterinary projects for the skill training to students. He also said that preserving nature is the most important for human existence.

The programme concluded with vote of thanks proposed by Dr Nemjemyanger Kubzari, FM.
