Zunheboto, April 25 (MExN): World Malaria Day was observed under the theme ‘Reaching Zero Malaria Target’ at CMO Office, Zunheboto on April 25.
Orenthung, EAC Zunheboto shared about focusing on the vector surveillance activities and follow up action. He encouraged proper management of sanitation and clean hygiene and motivated the participants for more community participation and efforts.
Mudosayi Huire, Consultant NVBDCP gave the keynote address and highlighted how malaria is spread and encouraged community participation for creating awareness. He shared about the preventive measures and services available to the participants. He also emphasized on keeping surroundings clean so as to reduce mosquito breeding and to prevent the spread of malaria.
Short speech was given by Dr Aron, DTO- RNTCP, Kakugha Jimo, Vice President, Zunheboto Area Public Organization and Katoi Jimo Vice Chairman-Town GB. Tony, Academic Dean, Nito Theological College invoked God's blessing. Dr K Akaho Sema, CMO cum DVBDC gave the vote of thanks and G Hekuto, Assistant Malaria Officer chaired the programme.
