4th phase NISHTA training concludes

DIMAPUR, MARCH 20 (MExN): The fourth phase of the National Initiative for School Heads' and Teachers' Holistic Advancement (NISHTHA) for District Mission Authority (DMA), Samagra Shiksha Kohima culminated on March 18 at Dr N Kire GHSS, Seikhazou, Kohima owing to the endemic threat of COVID-19. 


A press release informed that extra classes are compensated from day 2 & 3 to cover the remaining pedagogies. However, feedbacks and post-test will be done online by teacher trainees from their respective convenient homes on March 20. 


NISHTHA is a capacity building programme for improving quality of school education through integrated teacher training. This initiative is the first of its kind whereby standardised training modules are developed at national level for all States and Union Territories of India.


The State Resource Persons are Emillo Patton, Deputy Director, School Education; and Dr Bijano Murry, Principal, Dr N Kire GHSS. Key Resource Persons (KRPs) for the training are Dr Sukanya Paul, Reader, SCERT Mathematics; Pelenou Peteneilhou, PGT English; Yawao Konyak, Research Assistant, SCERT Science; Medemmongla Jamir, Research Associate SCERT;, Grace Yanthan, PGT Social Science; Peter, Reader SCERT; Aneile Big, DIET Lecturer Education; Kenilo Semp, Sr DIET Lecturer Maths; Neikulu Curhah, Training Research Assistant, SCERT; Sonian Jempang, Training Research Assistant, SCERT; and Vilakhole Nagi, Research Associate SCERT, Science.


Three hundred thirty two (332) teacher trainees attended the training. Those teachers who discontinued training on day two due to health reasons will be called as fresh for the 5th phase of NISHTHA training. Date and venue will be intimated in due course of time.
