The weeklong All India Football Federation (AIFF) 'D' license course organized by Kohima District Football Association (KDFA) under the aegis of Nagaland Football Association (NFA), concluded today at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima.
Altogether, 23 coaches from Kohima, Dimapur, Mon, Tseminyu, Peren and Chümoukedima district joined the training course.
It was conducted by N William Koso, AIFF D Coach Educator and AFC A license coach. During the weeklong camp, the coaches underwent two practical exams and one theory exam as part of their course assessments.
The results of the course will be announced by AIFF at a later date.
‘Nagaland in need of qualified coaches’
During a short programme, held after the theory exam on June 13, NFA president and AIFF executive member K Neibou Sekhose said the NFA has given priority to develop coaches and referees in the state.
To this, he said the state was in need of qualified coaches at the grassroot level.
The qualified referees in the state will improve the standard of the game in the state, he said.
He appreciated the KDFA for hosting the course.
He asked the coaches to give back to the society by sharing the knowledge what they have learnt during coaching camp.
To be a coach, you need to have patience, understand your players and the ability to bring out the best of the players, Sekhose said. Instructor Koso advised the trainees to shoulder responsibility as a coach to guide and be an example to the youngsters.
The programme was chaired by Neidilhoutuo Sechü, Vice President (admin), KDFA. Two trainees Aokumer Ao and Reimaya Muinao shared their experiences.
Vote of thanks was proposed by Mathew Yhome, president KDFA and benediction by Aonanpong Longkumer.
