Dimapur, March 27 (MExN): The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Nagaland Branch in association with the Department of Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship under the World Bank Assisted project conducted its last phase of Industry Connect Program to generate awareness and promote Youth participation in Industrial Training and self employment.

A press release from Hokhuli Sema, Chairperson, CII Nagaland State Council & CEO, Faith Hospital stated that the programme was held in Government Higher Secondary School, Wokha on March 16, Chandmari Higher Secondary School, Kohima on March 19 and Cornerstones Higher Secondary School, Zunheboto on March 25.

In Wokha, Thungbemo Murry, Past CII Chairman CII Nagaland State Council was the resource person. He emphasized on self employment and self reliance. Short speeches were delivered by ITI principal in charge Myanbemo Ezung and Yiben Humtsoe, social entrepreneur. Samuel Ezung member CII led the programme. Altogether 450 students from ITI, Wokha and GHSS Wokha attended the programme. 

Neichute Doulo, Past Chairman, CII Nagaland State Council and MD, EA spoke on skill development initiatives as resource person at Chandmari Higher Secondary School, Kohima. Lichan Humtsoe, MD, ETE Coffee Nagaland shared his success story and employability aspects. Alongse Sangtam, Principal of Kohima ITI spoke on the facilities in Government ITI’s and encouraged the students to prefer self employment as their career choice. Chuba Ozukum, CII Nagaland State Head led the programme.  

In Zunheboto, K Asumi, entrepreneur speaking as resource person said that the entrepreneurship development program is to help youths in achieving their goals, improve livelihood as well as nations economy. Students should be prepared from now on to become employable educated individual, Asumi said. 

Vikato Yeptho shared his experience as entrepreneur shared his driving force of wanting to become an entrepreneur and his experiences during the student days which helped him achieve his goal. Tokavi Suu, MD, Cornerstones advised the students on various opportunities available in the private sector which the students and youths can take up in the context of our society. Tavinto K Sumi lead the programme.
