The department of Land Resources Tuensang on May 6 distributed 17 coffee pulpers to coffee farmers of six blocks under Tuensang district.
Handing over the machines, Toking Yimchunger EAC HQ encouraged the farmers to use it judiciously so that it enhances the production and produce quality.
Appreciating the department for working for the upliftment of the rural economy Toking also highlighted the scope of coffee cultivation and added that the active programme implementation of the department is ‘encouraging’.
Exhorting the farmers, Toking also said that in the age of social media and internet, products like coffee can easily be sold, which is a great advantage.
Officials of the Land Resources Tuensang said that the machines have been funded by the North East Council (NEC) and asked the farmers to make good use of the pulpers for improvement of the economy.
The department officials also demonstrated on the use of pulpers to the beneficiaries.
