Phek, May 10 (MExN): The Phek District Bar Association (PDBA) expressed shock and sorrow at the sudden demise of Nechochiyi S Venuh, Retd Principal District & Sessions Judge Nagaland who passed away from Faith Hospital Dimapur on May 10.
He suffered a stroke on May 1, stated PDBA president Povotso Lohe in a condolence message. In his demise, we have lost a good personality and a legal luminary from amongst the legal fraternity in our district in particular and Nagaland in general and the vacuum caused will be difficult to fill, Lohe stated.
In a condolence message, the Phekmi Collegiate Forum (PCF) stated that late Nechochiyi was one of the tallest and prominent personalities among Phekmi citizens. Indeed we have lost a noble soul, a prominent personality among Phekmi community. His departure has created a huge void which will be difficult to fill in a decade, stated PCF president Vekhopu Venuh and general secretary Veshe Chizo.
The Phek Students' Union (PSU) said late Nechochiyi was a man of integrity and conviction who dedicated his life towards the upliftment of students' community. PSU President Tuku Venuh and General Secretary Krove Hoshi in a condolence message said, “we have lost an incredible soul, but his loving memories and immense contribution will forever be imprinted and cherished by students’ community.”
The Western Chakhesang Hoho (WCH) in its condolence message expressed shock on the untimely departure of such a noble person with leadership quality and goodwill for everyone, specially, for the welfare of the Chakhesang people. Expressing deep respect to the departed soul, WCH conveyed heartfelt condolences to the family members and pray God Almighty will grant strength and comfort during this time.
Conveying deepest sympathy and condolences, MLA Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu stated “we have lost a humble and honest soul indeed.”
“It is a colossal loss, particularly for Phek village. The vacuum created by his premature death cannot be filled up by anybody,” stated Dr. K. Hoshi.
A gentleman who has a great concern for our community. We will miss him dearly, stated Ruzukhrü D. Vasa.
Ex-MLA and former minister Deo Nukhu stated “Very sad for the untimely passing away. He was an upright and sincere man. Heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and May his soul rest in eternal peace.”
Nesucho Keyho stated “He's one of the honest bureaucrats, humble, down to earth, compassionate, straight forward, sincere, dedicated and God fearing government officer. His love for our people is immeasurable and today we lost a great soul, Keyho added.
The Dimapur Bar Association (DBA) in condolence note said it is appalled at the loss of a man with vast experience and knowledge who has during his lifetime served an illustrious career as Judge with great sincerity, honor and integrity. In his demise we have lost an exemplary and dignified senior member of the legal fraternity and a void has been created in the loss of his precious life. The Bar has extended condolences to the bereaved family and prays that the almighty God give solace and comfort.
