District level DAKSHATA training culminates

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 23 (MExN): A three-day district level DAKSHATA training for Health care providers was conducted at District Hospital, Longleng from September 21 to 23, a press release received from CMO office, Longleng informed. 

Addressing the trainees, resource person Dr S Imnameren Phom DPO (RCH/UIP) said that the goal and objectives of the training is to improve the quality of maternal and newborn care during the intro and immediate post-partum period by enhancing the competencies and skills of staff working in labour rooms and developing a system of post- training follow up and mentoring, and strengthening the capacity of the facilities and the system to measure the quality of care on a regular basis.

During the three day training pre and post test sessions, practice demonstration of normal delivery, new born care and new born resuscitation by skill practice using models and skills checklist, labour room managements, prevention, identification and management of pre-eclampsia and eclampsia, new born infections, post partum hemorrhage (PPH), biomedical waste managements, reporting and recording were imparted to the trainees. 

Dr Tiasunep Chief Medical Officer, Longleng delivered the closing remarks and distributed the DAKSHATA trained certificate to the trainees. Altogether 15 participants including staff nurses from District Hospital, Longleng and from all the health units attended the training.
