Nagaland: 1 new COVID-19 case, over 35k vaccinated

Dimapur, February 27 (MExN): One new COVID-19 positive case was reported in Nagaland on February 27.  The Health Department’s bulletin informed that the new case was detected among traced contacts in Kohima. With this, the total caseload of the State now stands at 12,199. A total of 11,946 patients have recovered, leaving 10 active cases. 

With just seven cases in the past week (February 20 to 26), Nagaland’s positivity trend has reduced down to 1 per cent.

Among the seven cases, two were from Traced Contacts/Self-test, two from travellers and three were from armed forces/security personnel. There were no positive cases among frontline workers in the past week, according to the health department’s weekly bulletin.

Status of vaccination

As per the bulletin, at least 35, 262 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in the state so far. Out of these, 19,606 were frontline workers, 10, 159 health care workers have received the first dose, and 5, 497 health care workers have received the second dose of vaccines till date.

The bulletin also informed that From March 2021, all citizens above 60 years and above (as on January 1, 2022) and all citizens aged 45-59 years of age (as on January 1, 2022) with specific comorbidities or diseases, subject to certification by a Registered Medical Practitioner,  would be vaccinated across the country.

Left out Healthcare and frontline workers will continue to get the vaccine, it added.
