Nagaland Home Dept directs DTF on COVID-19 to be ‘fully activated’

Kohima, May 6 (MExN): In view of the rapid surge of COVID-19 in the State, the Home Department, Nagaland on Thursday wrote to all the Deputy Commissioner & Chairman, District Task Force on COVID-19 on conduct of timely meetings and reviews by the DTF.

“It is essential that District Task Force on COVID-19 is fully activated and meets as often as possible in any given week,” R Ramakrishnan, IAS Principal Secretary, Home said.

The DTF should regularly review the existing arrangements and take timely action to deal with any likely exigencies making judicious use of all the resources at the command of the district, it stated.

In many parts of the country, there are reports on the shortage of medical oxygen leading to fatality of COVID-19 patients. “In this regard, special attention may be given to availability of ICU beds and beds with oxygen facilities in the COVID-19 hospitals along with the status of installation of the PSA Oxygen Generation Plant in your district,” it instructed.

Further, it also requested to ensure that the personnel manning the 24x7 Helpline number of the DTF on COVID-19 make compilation of all details pertaining to the above and be in a position to reply as and when information is sought.
