Dimapur, April 30 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) Union Territory (UT) has banned the sale and supply of all types of gutkhas and panmasala products under the UT jurisdiction with immediate effect. In a press release on Friday, the UT Secretary informed that the decision was taken under the directive of the Caretaker, CAO, UT. It directed all concerned shops to cease the sale and supply of such tobacco products immediately after this publication until further notice, while adding that “officials shall be authorised by the competent authority for surprise checks and those found indulging shall be penalised.” Further, it reminded all commercial business establishments apart from pharmacies, bakeries and lodging services in Dimapur town to stay closed on Sundays.
