SHG seasonal bazaar in Kohima on Sept 9-10

Kohima, September 7 (MExN): With an aim to promote natural produce, homemade items, and community-driven rural enterprises, the Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) is organising a two-day Self Help Group (SHG) Seasonal Bazaar in the state capital on September 9 and 10.

The market exhibition will be held at Old NST, opposite Crescent International Hotel, featuring a wide range of farm-fresh goods and indigenous products brought directly by SHGs from Wokha district, NSRLM said on Monday.

The stalls will showcase an extensive variety of fresh agricultural produce, including green leafy vegetables, pumpkins, chayote, pineapples, different chilli variants, seasonal fruits, and taro stems.

Value-added and household products such as homemade pickles, natural fruit juices, brooms, and traditional handicrafts will also be on display, along with local livestock commodities including poultry and fresh crabs.

According to the NSRLM, the initiative aims to create consumer awareness about locally available rural produce, create reliable direct-to-consumer market avenues for small producers, and explore scope for upscaling their market reach beyond village borders.

Promoted under the banner theme of 'Go green, Eat fresh and Support Local', the stalls will remain open to the public from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on both days.
