Kiphire, April 8 (MExN): School Health and Wellness Programme under the Ayushman Bharat conducted training for school principals, headmasters, and head teachers in Kiphire district from March 17 to 20, and March 23 to 26.

The resource persons for the training comprised of Kegwalo Thyug, SCERT Project Coordinator; Sonian and Kethovilie, State resource persons from SCERT, Nagaland; Dr Pewezo Khalo, DPO (RCH/UIP) and Dr Moajungla, MO (RBSK).

Training for the first batch was held in Kiphire town with 54 health ambassadors from March 17 to 20, while training for the second batch was conducted from March 23 to 26 in Pungro town with 21 participants.

The training and resource material was organised in 11 modules on themes dealing with needs and concerns of different age groups.

The themes included ‘growing up healthy’, ‘emotional well-being and mental health’, ‘interpersonal relationships, values and citizenship’, ‘gender equality’, ‘nutrition, health and sanitation’, ‘prevention and management of substance misuse’, ‘promotion of healthy lifestyle’, ‘reproductive health’ and ‘HIV prevention’, ‘safety and security against violence and injuries’, and ‘promotion of safe use of internet and social media behaviours’. 

As per a press release from the Kiphire Chief Medical Officer (CMO) office, School Health and Wellness Programme under the Ayushman Bharat was launched in Aspirational district Kiphire on March 16, with visions to equip, motivate, and support children to actively contribute towards the development of self and society.

The event was attended by principals, headmasters, and head teachers of all the Government Middle Schools, High Schools, and Higher Secondary Schools of the district.
